Cooking Matters Graduation and Cookoff!

On October 26th, 14 students completed the 6 week “Cooking Matters for Adults" class presented by Chef Donna with UF/IFAS Extension Family Nutrition Program.  During the course, students learned how to properly and safely use utensils and the stove, how to shop on a budget, and enjoyed the fruits of their labors each week.  This final class consisted of a graduation ceremony where each student received a goodie bag of items, including measured bowl, shaker mug, 4 way tool, insulated bag, shopping bag, and the very popular cookbook!  After the presentation, it was time for a cookoff using items from the food table.  The teams made Stir Fry Chicken and Rice, Pizza, and Vegetable Omelette.  They then presented their dishes to the judges (See below links for the presentation).  Our judges panel loved each dish and could not agree on a clear winner!  Clearly, everyone was a winner!  Thank you Chef Donna for leading a great class!
